Who comes for acupuncture? From where? And why?

People often wonder who comes for acupuncture?  From where?  And why?

These are great questions and the answers are very interesting!

Who comes to RCA?

In community acupuncture, because it’s so affordable, we see a wide range of people from all walks of life.  We see people from all ethnicities and gender groups.  We see home makers, lawyers, mechanics, the unemployed, the retired, students, doctors, professional athletes, nurses, house cleaners, shop owners, executives, entrepreneurs, minimum wage employees, real estate agents, other acupuncturists, sales people, flight attendants, paralegals, executive assistants, hair dressers, police officers, chiropractors, politicians, engineers, amateur athletes, olympic hopefuls, financial planners, you name it and our patients do it.

What do they come for?

Our patients tend to come for  three main and four other reasons:

1. Acupuncture for Pain Management (head aches, back pain, knee pain, joint pain, Lyme’s disease, fibromyalgia, migraines, etc.)
2. Acupuncture for stress, mental, and emotional issues (insomnia, anxiety, depression, mood swings)
3. Acupuncture for Fertility and menstrual issues (Fertility, cramps, short or long periods, menopausal symptoms, labor induction, breech birth turning)

1. Acupuncture for Asthma, Colds and Flus, etc.
2. Acupuncture for Digestive and Bowel related issues
3. Acupuncture for Cardiac function (Palpitations, high blood pressure, chest pain, etc.)
4. Acupuncture for sports injuries and performance enhancement

Where do patients come from?

We get many of our new patients from referrals from current patients, and also from Google searches.  We also get a lot of referrals from doctors, nurses, massage therapists, and other acupuncturists who’ve heard of our great work and reasonable fees.

Patients come from as far away as Canada and Jamaica, and from 11 states.  In PA, folks come from as far as Wilkes Barre, but most come from the five zip codes around Roxborough and Manayunk.
